Weak-Key Drill Generator

Practice the keys you repeatedly miss using saved results from the typing test, typing error analyzer, and this drill. The analyzer reviews one attempt; this page combines eligible key data stored in this browser.

Choose “Start drill,” click the text, and type the characters shown, including spaces. Use Backspace to correct an entry. The drill ends at the end of the passage. For a practice plan, follow the typing accuracy guide.

No qualifying weak keys yet. A key needs at least five recorded attempts and one error to appear. Complete the typing test or the typing error analyzer, then return here in the same browser.

If storage is blocked or cleared, saved drills are unavailable. You can still run a single-session diagnostic and practice its suggested keys without saved history.

How the ranking works

A key only appears once it has been typed at least five times across your saved sessions, to provide a minimum sample. Five attempts are still a small sample; review repeated sessions before drawing conclusions. Ranking is by error rate, the share of attempts at that key that were wrong, with total errors as a tiebreaker. As you drill a key correctly more often, its error rate falls and it moves down the list, making room for your next weakest key.

The ranking shows up to ten eligible keys, and each drill uses up to six. The generated text repeats those characters with spaces between groups. A selected Space key is represented by “sp” groups. Follow this exercise with ordinary words or letter-combination practice to check transitions.

This history is saved only in your browser. Clearing site data, switching browsers, or using private mode resets it. Use "Reset saved key data" if you want to start the ranking over, for example after switching keyboards.

Track your results over time on the progress dashboard, or run a fresh single-session diagnostic to see this session in isolation.

Choose the analysis you need

Single-attempt diagnostic

Uses
A new copying passage
Shows
Missed and slower characters from this attempt

Practice the suggested keys, then check a fresh passage.

Saved-mistake drills

Uses
Eligible mistake history in this browser
Shows
A drill for recurring errors across supported sessions

Review the sample size; return to the diagnostic if history is unavailable.

Keyboard heatmap

Uses
A new copying passage
Shows
A visual map of expected keys, error rates, and estimated QWERTY finger share

Check whether a dark key is frequent or error-prone; the two views differ.
