About KeysInFlow

KeysInFlow is a free typing platform built to help people of all skill levels type faster and more accurately. Whether you're learning to touch type for the first time, brushing up before a typing test, or just curious how fast you really are, KeysInFlow gives you the tools, lessons, and games to get there, without creating an account.

Why I built KeysInFlow

I'm Habib, a developer who types all day. I wanted to get faster, but the typing sites I tried often asked me to sign up first or interrupted practice with popups. I also struggled to find exercises for the code and symbols I use in my work.

So I built KeysInFlow: open it and start typing. Alongside general typing lessons, I added practice for programmers and other professions so people could work on the kinds of text they actually use. You can start without an email address or password, and your practice progress stays in the same browser on your device.

What KeysInFlow offers

The site is organized into four parts. Tools cover the practical side: a typing test, an endurance and consistency test, a WPM and accuracy calculator, a weak-key analyzer and drill generator, a pace trainer, dictation practice, a goal planner, a keyboard tester, a keypress interval tool, and a custom practice creator for your own text, among others. Lessons teach proper technique from scratch, progressing from individual fingers to full hands to complete beginner-to-advanced typing. Games turn practice into something closer to play, with a racing game, a word-blasting game, a word chain game, and a falling-words game. The Blog provides practice plans, explanations of typing scores, and keyboard layout guides. A progress dashboard ties your results from all of them together.

How to read our lessons and guides

KeysInFlow publishes its guides under the KeysInFlow name. Habib is the developer behind the site. Research summaries link to the paper or institution, and operating-system instructions link to the relevant product documentation. A study's measured result is separate from our suggested practice routine; neither a routine nor a score guarantees an improvement.

Profession passages are copying exercises. Demonstration records, reports, quotations, and citations are fictional examples, and no lesson supplies professional qualifications or advice. Our typing tools measure keyboard input; they cannot see your fingers, eye movements, or posture. Article dates distinguish initial publication from later content changes.

Found an unsupported claim, a confusing exercise, or an instruction that behaves differently on your device? Use the feedback checklist and include the page and the specific correction. Please leave out confidential text and personal records.

Your practice progress and privacy

KeysInFlow doesn't have user accounts, and it doesn't need them. Your scores, streaks, and lesson progress are saved directly in your browser's local storage, never on a server we control. Advertising services may use cookies and device information separately from your locally saved practice progress. Full details are in our Privacy Policy.

Who I built it for

I want KeysInFlow to help students, people preparing for typing tests or jobs, and anyone who spends their day at a keyboard. My aim is to make it easy to find useful practice, whether you're learning the basics or getting more comfortable with professional vocabulary, code, and symbols.
