Learning the S Key
The S key sits on the home row under your left ring finger, one position to the right of A. The suggested finger assignment is a guide for standard QWERTY practice; the page cannot verify which finger you use.
The drill repeats a small set of characters so you can focus on placement. Copy spaces and line breaks exactly. After a comfortable attempt, try the hand or beginner lessons to combine the movement with other keys.
Practice focus
Separate the left ring-finger movement from its neighbors.
- Place the ring finger on S between A and D.
- Use the repeated groups to check that the ring finger presses while the other fingers stay relaxed.
Review your attempt
Repeated A or D errors suggest a neighboring reach; repeat a single S followed by Space and inspect the result.
