Learning the D Key
The D key sits on the home row under your left middle finger, right next to S. The suggested finger assignment is a guide for standard QWERTY practice; the page cannot verify which finger you use.
The drill repeats a small set of characters so you can focus on placement. Copy spaces and line breaks exactly. After a comfortable attempt, try the hand or beginner lessons to combine the movement with other keys.
Practice focus
Establish D as the reference for the left middle finger.
- Find F by touch, then place the middle finger one key to its left.
- Alternate short and longer D groups. Keep the same finger choice when the rhythm changes.
Review your attempt
If extra Ds appear, check whether you are holding the key long enough to trigger repeat. Use a brief press and release.
