Keep your left fingers on A, S, D, F and your right fingers on J, K, L, semicolon. Start with paired movements, then combine only these keys into short words.

How to practice home row
Find the starting position by touch and alternate between the two hands.
- Locate the raised marks on F and J. Place the other fingers on the neighboring home-row keys.
- Read asdf and jkl; as two groups. Press one key at a time and use a thumb for each space.
- In the word section, watch repeated letters in fall and adds. Let the key come back up before pressing it again.
Review your attempt
If F and J are easy but A or semicolon causes a pause, repeat the outside-key pairs before trying the words again.
Move to top-row reaches when you can find the starting position again without searching for it. The completion badge is a software milestone; use your errors and comfort with the movement to decide what to repeat.
