6. Common Words
Build smooth transitions through a selection of common English words. Keep the spaces between words steady, and notice pairs that repeatedly slow you down.
Practice keys: A-Z. Type the drill below at a pace where you can stay accurate. Reaching the lesson target shown below marks this lesson complete. The next-lesson link then appears; lessons can also be opened from the course list.
This is lesson 6 of 7 in the beginner course. If a key trips you up repeatedly, it's worth pausing here rather than pushing through to the next lesson, since each stage assumes real comfort with everything before it.

How to practice common words
Build repeatable word-to-word rhythm without memorizing one passage's score.
- Keep the words in the displayed order even when another word seems more likely to come next.
- Notice their and there, and then and them. Read the final letters before entering the next space.
- After an attempt, write down one word pair that caused a pause and repeat that pair carefully.
Review your attempt
Try a fresh common-word test after this drill. A higher score on this repeated list may reflect familiarity with the passage.
Use the sentence lesson to add capitals, numbers, and punctuation to familiar words. The completion badge is a software milestone; use your errors and comfort with the movement to decide what to repeat.
