Learning the L Key

The L key sits on the home row under your right ring finger. The suggested finger assignment is a guide for standard QWERTY practice; the page cannot verify which finger you use.

The drill repeats a small set of characters so you can focus on placement. Copy spaces and line breaks exactly. After a comfortable attempt, try the hand or beginner lessons to combine the movement with other keys.

Practice focus

Make a repeatable right ring-finger movement on L.

  1. Place the ring finger on L between K and semicolon.
  2. Read the group length first, then enter that many Ls and one space. Avoid guessing from the previous group.

Review your attempt

An extra or missing L is a sequence-counting error as well as a possible movement issue. Read the group again before repeating it.
