Learning the J Key
The J key sits on the home row under your right index finger. Like F, it usually has a raised bump for orientation. The suggested finger assignment is a guide for standard QWERTY practice; the page cannot verify which finger you use.
The drill repeats a small set of characters so you can focus on placement. Copy spaces and line breaks exactly. After a comfortable attempt, try the hand or beginner lessons to combine the movement with other keys.
Practice focus
Locate the right index-finger reference before combining keys.
- Find the raised mark on J and check that the index finger is on it.
- Copy the groups with a short release between presses, keeping Space separate from the repeated Js.
Review your attempt
If K or H appears, check the starting position rather than trying to compensate by moving the whole hand.
